How We Built Grade Hero's Academic Marketplace from the Ground Up
A college academic support marketplace needed a verified-writer job platform, a manager dashboard, and a student-facing portal — but had no technical team and a six-month runway. We built all three and shipped.

The Challenge
The academic assistance market was fragmented and untrustworthy. Students found freelancers through social groups and gig platforms with no quality control and no accountability. Grade Hero’s founder wanted to build something different — a structured marketplace where verified writers competed for jobs, managers reviewed every deliverable, and students received guaranteed quality. The problem was that none of this existed yet.
The challenge was not simply to build software. It was to design and engineer a complete marketplace ecosystem from scratch — one that gave writers a real-time job flow, gave managers commission visibility and scheduling control, and gave clients a polished, trustworthy experience from order to delivery, all under a six-month deadline.
The Solution
A full product suite — admin panel, React Native mobile app for writers, and client portal — built around a structured job lifecycle with role-based access, real-time chat, and calendar-driven scheduling at its core.
Job Workflow Engine
Built a structured job lifecycle system — request, assign, review, deliver — replacing email chaos with traceable, accountable handoffs that managers and writers could navigate in real time.
Writer Mobile App
A React Native app purpose-built for writers, with live job feeds, deadline tracking, in-app chat, and a loyalty balance system that kept writers engaged and productive from their phones.
Admin Control Panel
A full-featured dashboard for managers to oversee all jobs, writer performance, client accounts, calendar scheduling, and revenue — all from a single interface with role-based controls.
